THIN & slim.... NICE & flat.... sexy! Jun 12, 2010 Perhaps I read too many of the reviews re: Cruiser Black Metal Frames.
I took a chance; I made the plunge.... I'm darn thrilled!
Everyone was terribly helpful in their reviews but not having something to 'see, touch, feel' it was hard to pick. My only picks were from Cruiser however.
For once, 'touchie feelie sans see' worked! The frame is nice black matte (sort of, but nothing shiny).
It's not bulky -- aka, it's not bulging out/off the back of my vehicle; it's nondescript - yet descript. No fat edges, no 11-99 foundation metal top or bottom.... just a nice slim outline for my rear plate (but not too slim) and as prev mentioned - not too behemothly outwardly big. It blends in just perfect with the Sport model (blk bumpers, blk trim). She's just perfect... at least for my liking. And my liking includes the rear of a BMW X3. Your liking, hard to say.... but my guess is that you'll like it too. I'd call it a nice confluence of ying & yang. You probably won't go wrong adding it to your cart :)
A SMALL UPDATE (only because a never-ending afterthought felt it legit):
....I still ABFAB love this frame! You hopefully will too.
However, the 'Cruiser' screws I purchased to go with this frame have left less than a satisfying moment in my life. Literally, a 10 minute moment that turned into 1+ hours of distaste. I feel others should perhaps be aware of my mistake in purchasing the optional accompanying hardware. Yes, while my mistake.... I just can't let go of Cruisers inaccurate 'import' description of the hardware. You'll find my further comments over on the "Cruiser Accessories 80150 Fasteners, Import-Nylon, Black" page. I'll hope this helps others somewhere along the way.

looks good Jun 11, 2010 This frame is pretty sturdy, could be better though. It has a nice gloss finish and looks good on my car.
Good quality, nice smooth finish Apr 21, 2010 My car uses four hole mounting at the back, and two hole mounting at the front. So I bought the other two-hole Cruiser plate for the front.
This bracket looks very nice installed with some black screws. The semi-gloss finish matches many of the other black trim pieces on my car.
Slightly flimsy - thin metal construction Nov 18, 2009 I could foresee a problem with this frame if you only used the two top screw holes and left the rest dangling. The thin metal construction might be liable to bend. But using all four mount points makes the problem moot and it looks sharp and is dirt cheap if you figure in free shipping.

Good Nov 01, 2009 I like this frame because it is thin and understated. It does not feel flimsy and I expect it to last in Southern California because rust is not a problem.
What I don't like is the mounting holes at the lower part of the frame. I know that license plates also have mounting holes at the bottom, but I have not seen a car that used those for attaching license plates. I would prefer either tabs at the bottom of the frame or some sort of covers to give it a finished look.
Also, I was able to find this exact same frame at a local Autozone cheaper even after SoCal tax.
