The license plate cover came shrink-wrapped and even still, one the corners was cracked off inside the wrapper. Annoying. It also didn't come with any hardware. So, now it's still sitting in my trunk because I just didn't have the energy to return it.

Cheap Thin Plastic Chinese Knock Off Aug 03, 2011

It arrived in a UPS box with only one piece of bubble plastic in the box -so it bounced around in the box. When I unwrapped it -I found it not as described. It is made of a very thin plastic. I read the instructions on the back of the wrapper and one of the disclamers was: CAUTON: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! THIS COULD DAMAGE THE PRODUCT. I tried to install it anyway and two of the screws and it cracked it even tho I was very carefull. It also shows rubber washers required for installation - NOT INCLUDED.
Manufacturing Defect. This item is not made from Polycarbonate as advertised. It is made from cheap clear thin plastic.
Don't waste your time and money.

The polycarbonate material is extremely durable. I first used it on a MINI Cooper frame mounted on the tow hook socket (about 5 inches off the ground). It took a ton of rocks and road debris with no significant damage. Also, no additional mounting hardware is required. Just use the self-tapping screws or machine screws from your current license plate mount. If your tag is mounted using two screws however, you will want to get two more so that all four corners are secure.

I put this on the front of my Nissan Murano and while it works, it almost seems like my plates are bigger than the cover. Does not have any notches to actually hold the license plate so if your plate has any slight bends or anything like that this will bend with the plates. I would not buy again.

The impact resistant plastic is clean and clear. I bought two for the front of two cars but will buy more for the third and a spare. My existing hardware worked fine. no complaints whatsoever!
